Rene, a French hunter, was out with his three Blue Gascony Basset Hounds when two of them ran off after a deer. The youngest stayed with Rene and decided that this would be great time to jump up on him for a cuddle. Unfortunately in so doing the dog pulled the trigger on a shotgun, blasting Rene's hand, which had to be amputated. The philosophical hunter is refusing to blame the unnamed Basset Hound. "It wasn't the dog's fault," he said. "And he's adorable! I should have left the [gun's] safety on, that's all."
