As part of my love of all things jazz and all things German, I went to a concert by the Carsten Daerr Trio, who are from Berlin. Their drummer was in the wonderful jazz group [em]. I am not too much of a jazzer so so I cannot say too much about the music of this combo, but I liked them enough to buy their Wide Angle album, and not just because it has a photo of Banksy graffiti on the Apartheid Wall. Musicologists might be interested in their track 'Intuition', which manages to combine jazz rhythms to a motorik beat. image source
