Falling behind in my blog reading, I only registered recently that Momus has stopped writing his blog.

The good folk of Momus Lolz seem to have stopped updating their blog in sympathy.

Wow, Bloglines and LiveJournal are friends again. Getting a load of updates on all the LiveJournal blogs I had largely forgotten about means that the problem of conversation in Panda Mansions has been solved for some time to come.

I would also like to read more about comics. A lot of people I know read comics - why do so few of them write about them on their blogs? Get to it!

Oi! Blogger! Sort it out!

I really wish blogger would sort it out so that you could easily display links recent comments on the front page of a blog. I am partly saying this because I am, suddenly, getting some great waht is it maed comment action on my other blog.

Link action, my amazing life

After my amazing last post, I thought of never posting again. But here I am. I thought I would fill you in on forthcoming events in my amazing life. But first, some link action...

1. Don't Stop Comma Believinnnnn brings you the latest adventures of secret agent James Momus

2. Trashley illustrates the death of Charlton Heston, drawing an obvious but strangely not otherwise made point.

3. "Queenie" is inviting people to nominate THE GREATEST BANDS OF ALL TIME. I cleverly forgot all about Sonic Youth.

5. People on the Internet are very mature. (requires login)

And so to my amazing life. These are the things I am looking to go to over the next while. Maybe see you at them.

13/5/2008 - Black Mountain bring their spacey rock sounds to Dublin. A festival band say some, others may disagree.

25/5/2008 - Public Enemy. I think they may be doing that Don't Look Back shite to It Takes A Nation of Millions.... Normally I am against this kind of thing, but maybe I would rather see Public Enemy do it than not see Public Enemy.

Perhaps if it had been updated in the last two years...

Other people write blogs too

But they tend not to feature pandas.

One of these other people is "Rottenhat" (not his real name), whose blog is currently called The Colour of Memory. He writes about various things.

I sometimes look at Whereof One Can Speak, a blog about comics, but sadly it is mostly about comics lacking in thrill power.

And there is also New Music Strategies, in which this Andrew Dubber guy talks about the changing face of the music business and so on. He tends to be big on how you can't keep going with doing things the old way, and is not so hot on surefire ways to make a quick buck, so I have not used his blog to make myself rich yet. Which is a shame, as if he were to tell me how to become rich through almost no effort I would definitely throw him a couple of quid.

Exciting News For All Readers!

Blogger have finally introduced a new feature whereby people can choose when leaving comments to be notified of follow-up comments. It will be interesting to see what effect this has on people's commenting habits (I mean on other blogs people actually read, not this one).

What is Oink?

In my day Oink was a comic for kids. Now I am old and writing what is in some sense meant to be a music blog, but over on Freaky Trigger Tom talks about something called Oink that has apparently busted in a manner significant for people who write music blogs. I have no idea what this Oink is. I am so out of the loop.

Over on Freaky Trigger, yer man Tom Ewing has been doing a lot of musing about music blogs and all that. This reminds me of how this was originally meant to be a music blog, recycling stuff I had written elsewhere for the wider public of the blogoweb. Sadly, dogs and other animals intervened, making this a blog in which music only marginally appears. Maybe in retrospect I should have started yet another blog for the non-music stuff. Or whatever.

I would post a link to what Tom was saying about music blogs, except that when you post a link to a Freaky Trigger post, you appear in the comments to said post with a link back, and basically you look like you are trying to pimp your blog. I would rather wait until I have something to pimp.
