I maybe misled you in my mail - this kind of thing is often blog specific rather than blogging website specific. Like, blogger allow you to either require commenters to log in, or to let anyone leave comments. I cannot really see any good reason for requiring people to be logged in.
This is all from being annoyed yesterday by posts on other blogs that required logging in before commenting. So I thought, fuck them. This kind of thing would be fine if there were only one or two blogging websites on which you needed to maintain user accounts, but there are more than that now.
Kvlol - you are doing that thing people are always doing of assuming that I am more annoyed than I am. I must be cursed with a permanently annoyed tone of voice.
More generally, cockfarmers have mastered the art of registering user accounts. If people are paranoid about comments, they would be better off moderating them than requiring that commenters log in.
This all arises from my not being able to pimp my blog with some well placed "Good point!" comments.
The weird thing is that some websites don't need you too iirc.

ReplyDeletePeople are dicks when they can be anonymous though...
You are also surprisingly angry about this!
hmmm although it is annoying to log in I have to say people can be dicks as stated by kvlol. I say stay with the logging.
